چکیده
Enclosure is an effective strategy for enhancing soil carbon sequestration in the desert steppe. Soil organic (SOC) and its stock during changes plant community influence fertility global cycle. We studied SOC along with six types steppe of Inner Mongolia, northern China. The goal this study was to explore differences among communities while accounting effects environmental factors. collected 336 samples at four depths (0–5 cm, 5–10 10–20 20–30 cm) vegetation attributes from 84 plots enclosure. results revealed that type depth were most influential factors root biomass, SOC, stock. Total biomass varied 229.21 731.71 g·m−2 ranked as follows: Koeleria cristata > Leymus chinensis Stipa krylovii >Allium mongolicum >Stipa breviflora Convolvulus ammannii. Mean soils associated K. 1.94 1.62 times higher than measured C. ammannii soils, respectively. Root gradually decreased depth. Stratification ratios (SRs) increased different showed better quality (except A. mongolicum). Results redundancy analysis (RDA) clay, coverage, litter had significant impacts on conclude greatest effect improving after enclosure, contributed

The Effect of Forest Road Construction on Soil Organic Carbon Stock in Mountainous Catchment in Northern Iran
The main objective of this study was to investigate the effect of forest road construction on the Soil Organic Carbon Stock (SOCS) in Ziarat Catchment. Therefore, soil samples were collected from five land use types including road construction, cultivated area, channel bank, pasture and forest land and soil organic carbon concentration and bulk density were measured in the samples and SOCS were...
متن کاملEffects of grazing intensity on soil labile organic carbon fractions in a desert steppe area in Inner Mongolia
Grazing can cause changes in soil carbon (C) level. This study aimed to elucidate the response of soil labile organic carbon (SLOC) under four different grazing intensities: non grazing (NG), 0 sheep·ha(-1); light grazing (LG), 0.91 sheep·ha(-1); moderate grazing (MG), 1.82 sheep·ha(-1), and heavy grazing (HG), 2.73 sheep·ha(-1). Results showed that there was no significant difference in total ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...
متن کاملSoil organic carbon pools in the northern circumpolar permafrost region
[1] The Northern Circumpolar Soil Carbon Database was developed in order to determine carbon pools in soils of the northern circumpolar permafrost region. The area of all soils in the northern permafrost region is approximately 18,782 10 km, or approximately 16% of the global soil area. In the northern permafrost region, organic soils (peatlands) and cryoturbated permafrost-affected mineral soi...
